Frequently Asked Questions

First class: What you NEED to Know
  1. Booking is essential for all classes.
  2. Hydrate in advance of heated classes: Drink plenty of water the day before class, particularly the night before class. It takes a while for your body to absorb the water so drink what in advance of class and sip water during class.
  3. Wear sweat-wicking workout clothes: You don’t have to look like a pro but clothing suitable for a hot room will keep you more comfortable with all the sweat, leggings or shorts and a tshirt is perfect (no shoes needed).
  4. Don’t eat a big meal for two hours prior to class: The last thing you need is a lot of food sitting in your stomach during class but we also don't want to be very hungry either so a light meal is ok if the timing just works out that way, but keep it light –banana, nuts, smoothie etc if its within 2 hrs of class.
  5. Don’t expect too much of yourself: The class will be a challenge, so don’t expect to come out of the gate as a pro, no matter your fitness level or experience. Exercising in the heat is new to most. Be willing to try your best and take it as it comes. Take breaks(sit down) as you need to.
  6. Set up in the back so you can watch other yogis: You will feel more comfortable and it will be helpful to have some more experienced yogis in front of you to use as a visual guide.
  7. Bring an open mind: Some parts of the class may be outside your comfort zone, but bring an open mind to it. Listen with an open mind to the dialogue and to any specific guidance you get from the teacher.
  8. Have fun! Hey, it’s just yoga. Make sure you enjoy the experience and try to keep it all in perspective. Sit down on the mat and take a break if you need to. No big deal. Who knows, what your Hot yoga practice will bring you.
  9. We have parking available in designated areas of the car park and on the Tramore road please be mindful other business beside us have clamping is in operation 24hrs a day so please park in the right area(do not park outside the other business Eden Tile & DWG).  Ask at the desk if you are unsure.

Why the heat?

The heat is a tool used to…

  • warm the body and allow for a deeper stretch
  • maximize circulation to help remove waste and move oxygen through the body efficiently
  • increase heart rate for a better cardiovascular workout
  • facilitate transformation
Muscle and Joint Pain
Several joints, particularly the vertebrae, discontinue lubricating as effectively when a person enters into their thirties. Hot yoga promotes joint lubrication that may alleviate common feelings of stiffness and soreness, both re-actively and pro actively.

Hot yoga and Hot pilates are the most effective classes for weight loss. They address quite a few aspects of weight loss, as well as improved exercise and stress reduction. Increasing the pulse rate, your body then works to keep thermo-regulation, escalating calorie expenditure without the force on joints of further calisthenic work out regimens like jogging. Bikram yoga specifically helps to amplify the oxidation of fat cells.
Mobility and Flexibility
Stretching is an efficient way to increase flexibility, yoga may help increase one’s range of motion, thwart accidental injuries in exercise, and help someone heal from prior accidental injuries. You have the choice of Hot yoga, Yin yoga and Vinyasa yoga to help your mobility.

Cold muscles tend to be more likely to tear while stretched. Hot yoga works on the principle that stretching warm muscles is more effective and lets the practitioner progress deeper into poses.
Tension Relief
Exercise, deep breathing, and reflection have been revealed to cut back anxiety levels, and yoga combines all three. The psyche’s fight to concentrate on poses in a sweltering atmosphere distracts and distances from stressors. Lower stress levels allow for superior and easier sleep, which improves the immune system and reduces the probability of injuries on the body. Lower anxiety levels, on the whole, reduce weight gain, cut the possibility of illness and injury, lowers heart rate and blood pressure, as well as improves mood.
Immune System
In our heated classes raising your core temperature simulates a fever-like environment in your body, elevating white blood cell production and fighting viruses and bacteria. Your body also makes additional interferon, which raises the production of antibodies. Stress weakens the immune system; as a result activities that lessen stress also reduce vulnerability to a health issue
Increased Performance
Many athletes take up yoga to improve their levels of accomplishment in additional activities. Well-stretched muscle tissue has improved range of motion and is less at risk of tearing. Joints in good alignment are less pain-prone in high impact physical activities. The breath control of yoga improves execution in cardio and anaerobic activities.
