Hot Yoga Cork Teacher - Hasti Yavari

Kate McNamara

Owner / Teacher

Welcome to Hot Yoga Cork! I’m Kate, the passionate teacher and owner of this warm and welcoming studio. My journey with yoga began in my early 20s, and what started as a personal practice quickly became a lifelong adventure. Before opening Hot Yoga Cork in 2011, I spent years traveling the world, exploring and teaching various styles of yoga and movement. From calming, meditative flows to high-energy, sweaty sessions, I’ve embraced it all!

One of the things that drew me to hot yoga is its unique ability to melt away tension and stress, especially for someone like me who isn’t naturally very flexible. The heat allows me to move more freely and comfortably, helping me feel at home in my own body. The exhilaration, exhaustion, and balance I experience after each class are why I’m so passionate about teaching. Watching students experience these same benefits is incredibly rewarding.

In today’s fast-paced world, we all need a little help disconnecting from the chaos and reconnecting with ourselves. Whether you’re joining us for one class a week or making it a daily habit, I’m here to guide you on your journey to finding balance and bliss. Let’s move, sweat, and grow together at Hot Yoga Cork!

Hot Yoga Cork Teacher - Rosie Lawlor

Rosie L

Teacher

I’ve always said I’m a student first and a teacher secondly. I know I wouldn’t be able to teach as effectively if I did not practice the same classes  and personally I learned a long time ago the more continuous my practice the happier, more content  I feel.

I love to practice all the different varieties of classes at the studio. I like the way there is a lot of familiarity in the classes so that movements are continuously being refined and worked on but also there is plenty of variation throughout and that keeps it interesting for the mind and body.

This also keeps it very interesting for me as a teacher. My initial training was in hot yoga, I love the challenge of the hot room combined with the postures and the way it has taught me to quiet my mind. And since then, I’ve acquired vinyasa, yin, hatha flow and hot Pilates teaching certification Which allows more space for creativity as a teacher, some of the classes with music, and always lots of fun.

And I genuinely like being at the studio, and That's because of all the different people that come through, who always work so hard and you see the best of them  and that  motivates me to do my best.

Liz F

Teacher

After being a competitive Kickboxer for 10 years in my teens I was looking for a new form of fitness that would challenge me mentally and physically . That's when I found hot yoga and the addiction became real .I practiced yoga for many years before I made the leap to becoming a teacher. I work in the arts  which means things constantly change but being a yoga teacher gives me a sense of stability and a groundedness that compliments that life .

I am one of the first teachers from Dublin City Hot Yoga  26 & 2 teacher training Program in 2020. In also completed flow training 2021. I adore being a teacher and the journey you get to go on with each of  your students. I split my time between my home in Cork ,life on the road in my van, being in the sea and yoga.

Hot Yoga Cork Teacher - Gillian

Gillian F

Teacher

I dabbled in a few different yoga classes when I was in college but it wasn't until I started attending a lunch-time yoga class in my workplace in my early 20s that sparked something inside me. Like many others, I started practicing yoga purely for the physical benefits. I had suffered with chronic back pain and scoliosis for many years and quickly noticed that the benefits went beyond just the physical. Not only did my pain reduce, but I also felt more calm, compassionate and less reactive. Yoga has truly transformed my life which led me to do my teacher training in Sydney in 2021.

Since then, I have completed over 500 hours of training in vinyasa and yin yoga specialising in areas like injury management, anatomy and therapeutics. My classes have a strong focus on alignment and ensuring that we don't take ourselves too seriously. My goal is for each class to be educational, accessible and an opportunity for self-enquiry. Yoga has brought so much peace to my life and I want to share that with others - I hope to do so one savasana at a time!
